So you have decided to join the elite family of tail wheel pilots? Downtown Aviation’s tail wheel instructor, Dr. Morris Ray, will mold you into a more complete and proficient pilot as you earn your tail wheel endorsement! This course is very exciting, and extremely rewarding. You will end up wondering why you have waited so long to experience the challenge of a conventional gear aircraft! The tail wheel endorsement can take as much as 8-12 hours of flight time to accomplish, but this is dependent on the student’s ability and availability to fly on a consistent basis. The concepts that will be covered include wheel landings, three point landings, go-arounds, and dealing with crosswinds like a pro! Downtown Aviation offers a 2005 American Champion Super Decathlon as well as a 1943 Boeing Stearman biplane (if the weather is nice).
